2nd Annual Leadership Institute Conference |
The Center of Excellence for the Elimination of Health Disparities at Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) invites you to attend their 2nd annual Leadership Institute Conference which will be held on the WSSU campus, June 18-19, 2009.
National Strategy: Building Environments for NCLEX Success Leadership Institute II, Legacy of Leadership: Preparing for Tomorrow
The purpose of the institute is to groom young professional educators to assume leadership positions as deans, chairs, directors and other leadership roles in the HBCU/PBI nursing programs. The Institute is designed for those aspiring to leadership positions and individuals who are new in leadership positions as well as those seasoned leaders who desire to renew their skills. Graduate students are welcome.
The Center is fortunate to have Dr. Beverly Malone, CEO, National League of Nursing as the opening Keynote who will address the topic The Significance of Being Mentored.
Dr. Virginia Adams, Nursing Consultant and Previous Dean, Keynote who will address the topic, What it Really Means to be a Leader in Nursing Education.
Dr. Betty Adams, Dean, Prairie View A&M University, who will address the topic, Using Leadership Strategies to Deal with Student Academic Integrity Issues.
These Keynotes will be joined by many deans across our nation who will be addressing topics including Building Environments for NCLEX Success, Leadership Responsibility in Developing Technology, Building Relationships that Lead to Program Success, Integrating Diversity to Benefit the Nursing Program.
Most important are the sessions our protégés will spend with their assigned mentors. New protégés will be assigned mentors and will have an opportunity to select a permanent mentor following the Institute.
Contact hours have been applied for from the North Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
